Over The Counter Tapping Tap dance is such an astounding performance, the presence of music and a mesmerizing as well as hypnotising sound accompanying the basic act, with a strict guideline on the rhythm. My Dad loves to tap as well, but it ain't the mere clicking of his shoe heels on the floor, this tapping has remedial and healing powers imbibed in it. The intensity and direction of the tap, decided the effect of the healing, in the beginning stages it was more of an experiment rather than a performance and over a period of time, it became

CoilSheets, I pull closer,
rotten palm over my mouth,
I double over.

Heads shake in silence,
in silence I'm judged,
condescending nod, overtones of death,
a grim smile at what we have unearthed.

Hovers over me,
whispers, calm faces,
rewind, redo,
cross-stitched hysterical wailing,
drowning blood gargle screams.

Palms tightened around a barb wired gate,
faces distorted by fate,
reach out with them blood dripping palms,
as the soul of your dreams are torched down with a smile,

awaken, from sound dreams and
sounds from distant dreams,
the clock ticks the day away in night,
the days fade out of life.

Maybe it's a state of mind, to be depressed, but somehow the images I've seen always haunt me. There is sadness, hunger and pain out there in the world, in such abundance that if you open your eyes, you really can't say that you haven't seen it's existence.

WHY EXACTLY ARE WE ENTWINED IN AN ARMS RACE? WE DON'T NEED MORE WEAPONS! WE NEED FOOD AND HEALTH CARE.

I like the structure and how it feels really fragmented, as if the kids are dying there... or barely hanging on to life.

The way you have described it is great, and I like the way you've kept it somewhat ambiguous as well because.. it leaves room for interpretation, but it also suggests how anonymous they are, and how they are just ... three in a sea of millions who go hungry.

Really profound.
